Do you need a cat flap fitted in a glass door?

Look no further. Here at Simply Misted Windows we specialise in fitting and installing cat flaps into glass doors. We operate in the Swansea area. We have been fitting and installing for years.

We are a small independent business working in Swansea. There are many websites out there operating from far away, They simply contract the work out to a local company such as ourselves. Save yourself some hassle by coming directly to us.

How do you fit a cat flap in a glass door?

It may seem complicated to install a cat flap through glass but to our fitter it’s very simple. A new double glazed unit needs to be manufactured with a hole. This hole will be the exact sized to suit your chosen cat flap.  We will fit the cat flap to the new glass and turn up at your house with the complete unit with the cat flap already installed. All that’s left to do for the fitter is to remove the existing glass unit and replace it with the new one with the cat flap installed.

Does your fitter need to change my entire door?

No. We only replace the glass panel, not your entire uPVC door.

Can you just cut a hole in my existing door?

All glass within doors is toughened (tempered) meaning that if you try to cut the glass it would shatter into thousands of small pieces. Even if you did manage to cut a hole in it, you would never be able to seal the double glazed unit again. The holes needs to be cut in a factory prior to being toughened. Sorry!

What type of cat flaps do you offer?

We stock two types  that suit most customers needs.

  • PetSafe Staywell Deluxe Manual 4-Way Locking Cat Flap
  • Sureflap Microchip Cat Flap

If you require a different type of cat flap to be fitted, that’s no problem, our fitter will be happy to do this for you.

I don’t have glass in the bottom of my door. It’s just a panel?

That’s no problem, we can fit cat flaps into uPVC panels as well. Click here for more details.

How long does installation take?

It will usually take about a week for the double glazed unit to arrive with us. We can then send the fitter out at your convenience. Because most of the work is done away from your home, we will only be there for about an hour while we replace the glass.

How shall I proceed?

Just give us a call or send us an email. Usually we’ll give you a price over the phone. If you like, we will send one of our fitters to quote for the installation.
